Struklio 1.1.4 – Sign-In Fixed on Android
Struklio 1.1.4 is now available on iOS and Android. It fixes an issue that stopped some Android users from signing in after launch, and adds security and reliability improvements on both platforms.
Struklio 1.1.4 is now available on iOS and Android. It’s a small update with one important job: making sure everyone on Android can sign in.
Yesterday we launched Struklio on Google Play. Within hours, some of you told us something wasn’t right.
Thank you for telling us. Here’s what happened, and what we’ve fixed.
What went wrong
On some Android phones, signing in to Struklio didn’t work. You’d choose how to sign in, confirm it, and then land back on the sign-in screen instead of your dashboard.
The cause was in how Android hands control back to the app after you sign in. It could pass the sign-in confirmation to Struklio more than once, and those copies got in each other’s way. Instead of one clean sign-in, the app ended up with several attempts tripping over each other, and none of them finished.
iPhone wasn’t affected. But for an Android launch, not being able to get in is about the worst first impression an app can make. We’re sorry to everyone who ran into it.
What 1.1.4 fixes
Sign-in that works on Android
Struklio now handles the sign-in confirmation once, and only once, however many times Android delivers it. The rest are quietly ignored, so the sign-in that’s already in progress can finish and take you straight to your dashboard.
We’ve also changed how the app comes back to the front after you sign in, so it returns to the screen that’s finishing your login instead of opening a new one on top of it.
Safer sign-in details
While we were in there, we tightened how the app handles sign-in details behind the scenes, so the one-time codes used to sign you in are never written to the app’s logs.
Security and reliability improvements
Version 1.1.4 also includes the security and stability work we’ve done since launch, on both iPhone and Android.
Already tried and couldn’t get in?
